Responsible for tactical project management of small to large projects from blue sky to close out. Regularly interfaces with creative, technical, engineering and construction disciplines in the delivery of show/ride design and systems throughout the life of the project. The frontline manager is responsible for monitoring the budget and ensuring that the delivery schedule is met. Possess an advanced understanding of project estimates, including the basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, and risks; help to identify estimate gaps; understand trade-offs in factors that impact the estimate and knock-on effects; align the team in understanding and delivering within the baseline parameters
Sets the strategic direction of project(s) in partnership with Creative leader
Responsible for setting goals and priorities, and coordinating resources across multiple projects
Brainstorm and articulate execution strategy which includes all aspects and disciplines throughout life cycle of the project
Prepare and present project status reports at monthly updates to executive management with accountability
Accountable for developing and gaining consensus on procurement, production, and construction strategy for the project
Engage in blue sky projects, and develops the implementation strategy by matching ideas to a menu plan
Effectively manage project contingency, authorize its use, and identify the opportunity to reduce cost throughout the project lifecycle to return funds to contingency
Lead negotiations for contracts, project changes, and claims
Champion knowledge sharing to the team and WDI PM community including training and lessons learned
Recruit, evaluate, and develop talent
Reconcile competing agendas, influence outcomes, drive for results, and provide focus and structure to teams to optimize project performance
Demonstrate good situational awareness and use basic emotional intelligence to positively influence outcomes
Conduct independent project health checks
Leverage lessons learned and best practices to increase project efficiency, reduce risk, and educate the team
Technical Skills:
4-year undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, architecture, construction management, or 8 years equivalent work experience. Continuing education and studies at the post-graduate level (i.e. MBA or Master’s degree in the applicable field) is desirable.
Specialized Skills:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Significant experience in all phases of project delivery from conceptual through close-out
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
Significant contract administration and claims management experience
Significant experience with show/ride systems, integrated control systems
Experience with highly themed facilities or themed architecture
Experience with design integration
Experience within Themed Entertainment preferred
The hiring range for this position in location is $148.6K to $199.4K per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
