Kitchen Hood Cleaning Technician

Alexander Gow Fire Equipment Company has been the leading fire protection company in the Pacific Northwest since 1923. We are looking for a Kitchen & Exhaust Hood Cleaning Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA.


The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, good attitude, and a desire to learn new skills.


Experience is not required. Our team will provide on-the-job training and proper Personal Protective Equipment to safely perform and learn the duties of the position.


This is a full-time non-exempt position reporting to work Monday through Friday during the night shift. Shift hours vary, but jobs are generally conducted between the hours of 9 PM – 6 AM.


Essential Job Functions


· Inspection and cleaning of kitchen and exhaust systems in commercial businesses and food trucks;

· Cleaning of the kitchen exhaust system includes using pressure washers, cleaning agents, hand-scraping, and proper tools to remove grease from the hoods, fans, and ducts of the system;

· Polish and sanitize the commercial equipment with provided supplies;

· Climb ladders, kitchen equipment, and up to building roofs using the proper safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment;

· Working with General Manager, Project Managers, and dispatcher to fulfill jobs as scheduled;

· Communicate with customers in a professional manner reflective of company values;

· Drive company vehicle to and from jobsites and adhere to company Fleet Safety protocols;

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment;

· Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


· Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check;

· Ability to work in a team and follow direction from lead technicians;

· Consistent communication with team members and management;


Physical Requirements


This position requires physical exertion to complete the essential job functions:

· Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool knowledge;

· Regular lifting of 50+ pounds;

· Regular climbing of ladders and stairs;

· Working indoors and outdoors, involves roof work as well;

· Regular presence in confined spaces;

· Regular sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing and walking;

· Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
