Company Description

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is the nation’s leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances has an immediate opening for an Accounts Payable Intern. Tyler Union's main manufacturing facility is located in Anniston, AL. 

The Accounts Payable Intern will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete.  Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.  Position may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

This is an hourly position.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program.  Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Assist Division Controller with cost tracking and reporting.
  • Perform aspects of the accounts payable function by matching purchase orders to invoices and entering the invoices into the software (Microsoft D365) according to department policies and deadlines. Identify errors or discrepancies and resolve before processing.
  • Perform aspects of accounts receivable and cash application.
  • Assist with sorting and opening of inbound office mail and distribute to the proper department as needed
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Minimum Sophomore status in Accredited College Accounting or Business program.
