Position Summary
Responsible for assisting in performing analysis, maintaining accurate and up to date compliance records in support of the company’s environmental management system, gathering and maintaining data for sustainability reporting metrics, and tracking and evaluating proposed environmental regulation and legislation, in an effort to drive results with a focus on environmental compliance, environmental regulatory strategy, and sustainability. · Lead research and analysis of environmental policies, regulation, legislation, industry initiatives and other external developments with a view of assessing their impact on CONSOL and its business.
· Communicate new policies or regulations to internal stakeholders. Oversee the development of formal comments in response to regulatory proposals that impact the company.
· Oversee and guide sustainability data gathering, reporting and verification requirements (e.g., GHG emissions, water use, waste generation, air emissions, etc.) and sustainability disclosures (e.g., annual sustainability report, CDP, rating agencies, other third party external disclosures, etc.)
· Support implementation of selected sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI or SASB) and operating standards.
· Actively participate as a team member to implement sustainability data reporting process including data input, evaluation, assurance, and providing on-going technical assistance.
· Assist with the development and tracking of performance with respect to execution of ESG goals and objectives
· Manage the Company’s environmental incident tracking system. Provide compliance histories, trend metrics, monthly and quarterly reporting, and other needs as requested.
· Maintain records associated with regulatory reporting and assurance of compliance with regulatory required reporting deadlines.
· Support the development and presentation of environmental training content to both employees and contractors.
Required Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Data Analytics, or similar field.
· 1-3 years experience in an environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, sustainability, or similar role
· Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks
· Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills in a variety of settings (i.e., operations, cross-functional teams, leadership team, etc.).
· Must also be an independent self-starter, a team player, and be able to work on multiple assignments and complete high-quality work against strict and competing deadlines.
· Experience preparing formal and informal technical presentations for management to deliver to key stakeholders
