Senior Director, Sales, Americas

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Director, Sales whose primary role is the day to day management of the North American Sales team, Quarterly and annual sales as well as providing hands-on sales leadership of our experienced bio-processing sales team. The successful candidate will be expected to drive best in class practices for sales process and forecasting, key account management, territory management, to produce sales plans that will meet or exceed annual sales targets.  Based out the US Headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, this role reports to the Global Head of Sales.

This role is ideal for an individual that is hands on and willing to lead as a coach and mentor. The candidate must be customer focused, detail oriented, and a true leader, with a proven track record leading a successful high-powered sales team.

Responsibilities

This position offers the potential for a broad challenge, with the potential for incorporating elements of new market development and new product introduction to the existing customer base.

 

  • Manage the US-based sales team, located in multiple locations
  • Lead the annual sales planning process for each calendar year; deliver annual budgeted sales targets for each Account Manager, by product, rolling up to the US target sales number
  • In coordination with each rep, develop a sales and territory management plan to support the growth of the product portfolio for each Account Manager
  • Develop and grow global key account relationships
  • Analyze and report progress on sales revenue to forecast
  • Maintain contact with key partners, identifying new sales and business opportunities
  • Be the Advocate for the customer and overall market internally
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing to ensure that appropriate product, market and competitive information is shared in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support the development of marketing and product management programs
  • Provide Operations with timely information to support forecasting, resource planning and customer activities

 

Qualifications

  • At least 15+ years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industries; College degree required in a scientific discipline or equivalent
  • Proven sales track record and sales management experience
  • Proven ability to build mutually beneficial and trusting relationships with customers, partners and suppliers
  • Willing to travel extensively, throughout the US
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Significant experience building lasting relationships with C-suite executives in our industry

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $230,000-$280,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts. All compensation and benefits information will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
