About the role: 

We are looking for a product designer to join us in our mission to make software creation more approachable for everyone. This role will work across the product on software creation features like our AI product and features, collaboration tools, and software creation & deployment tools. You’ll have ownership of various altitudes of design from strategy to UI details. This role will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the direction on how AI-native interfaces are defined.

Examples of what you could do: 

• Work with the AI team to improve discoverability and usability of Replit AI through Chat and other form factors

• Lead a design workshop on ways to incorporate AI features into different parts of the Replit product

• Contribute and improve Replit’s Design System (Replit UI)

• Work with user research and marketing to discover new user needs and product opportunities

You will…

• Drive the product design experience from idea to software—concept sketches, user flows, prototypes, all the way to shipping to customers

• Test and validate design ideas through user interviews, building prototypes, and concept testing

• Partner with Product and Engineering on requirements and sequencing on initiatives you lead  

• Work with our Product teams to understand what design approaches are succeeding and where the highest-impact points of leverage are to unlock B2B growth for our user base 

Required skills and experience:

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a designer in SaaS and software authoring tools

• Experienced in systems thinking

• Ability to drive work forward and ship product experiences users love

• Extreme ownership: Replit is a lean, efficient startup where you won’t find heavy-handed management. You need to be comfortable with setting your own goals and know how to balance velocity and quality 

• Highly collaborative: you’ll partner closely with team members across the org in product, engineering and design 

Bonus Points: 

• You have worked on AI tools or projects

• You have experience with programming

• You have worked on designing tools before

The overall market range of base compensation for roles in this area of Replit is typically $180,000 - $215,000. Compensation offered will be determined by additional factors such as location and experience.

This is a hybrid role with an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our Foster City, CA Office.
