System Administrator, Senior

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) provides high-quality, professional services to government and commercial sectors. RMC is hiring a Senior System Administrator to support our customer in Dahlgren, VA.

The selected applicant will:

  • Administer and maintain Windows 2019/2022 Server environments, including installation and configuration.
  • Maintain and manage Active Directory and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Implement and oversee backup and recovery procedures to guarantee the integrity of data.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across diverse environments.
  • Provide technical support for hardware and software issues and implement solutions effectively.
  • Lead efforts in system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionalities and resolve issues efficiently.

The selected applicant will possess the following qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Windows system administration, specifically with demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server 2019/2022, VMware, and Active Directory is essential.
  • Knowledge of NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) for cybersecurity.
  • Experience in system backup and recovery.
  • Strong understanding of IT management and associated cybersecurity principles to include cybersecurity policy and network security.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills is a must.

Education Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Certification Requirement:

  • The selected applicant must have Department of Defense (DoD) 8140, Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) 2 or higher under specialty area 45 (FITSP-O, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP).
  • Red Hat Enterprise LINUX 7 is preferred but not required.

Clearance Requirements:

  • A Top-Secret clearance is required to start.
  • Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

* Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $90,000 to $150,000 annually.
