Job Title: Controller

They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead their accounting team, manage financial reporting, and ensure the integrity of their financial processes. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial statements, and driving process improvements to support their company’s growth and stability. This role is ideal for a strategic finance professional who is ready to bring expertise, integrity, and hands-on leadership to their organization.
Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with leadership to develop and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Internal Controls: Establish, document, and monitor internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning, analyze financial performance, and provide recommendations for optimizing cash management.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, particularly around tax regulations, payroll, and financial reporting.
Audit Coordination: Lead coordination with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits and financial reviews.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional development.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for improving efficiency, financial accuracy, and productivity within the finance team.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting standards.
Proven experience managing an accounting team with a commitment to fostering growth and development.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
