The Position

As a member of Roche Informatics' Data Advisory & Insights team, the Data and Analytics Specialist
plays a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders across different functions.This role involves understanding customer and stakeholder needs, problem-solving, contributing to product vision and roadmaps, managing the team backlog, and supporting teams in delivering value through continuous feedback and improvement whilst applying deep advanced analytics / AI knowledge. With a proven track record in understanding the true requirements of business stakeholders, you will collaborate as a team player in delivering data products. Additionally, you are comfortable with ambiguity, able to work independently with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities:

You will work on various aspects of analytics solution development and with deep technical expertise guide the team and stakeholders:

● Connecting with the Customer: Understanding Customers and Stakeholders: The Product Owner must thoroughly understand the needs and preferences of both internal and external customers, as well as non-customer stakeholders, to ensure comprehensive solutions. They use divergent thinking to identify the core problems that need resolution to provide maximum customer satisfaction through well-developed product solutions.
● Contributing to Vision and Roadmap: Market Analysis and User Representation: Engaging with Product Management to analyze market trends and business drivers is crucial. By actively representing end users through interviews and direct observations, the Product Owner ensures that the product vision and roadmap are aligned with real user value.
Collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize the backlog and communicating the roadmap effectively during PI Planning helps guide the team's efforts.
● Managing and Prioritizing Team Backlog: Creating and Managing Backlog Items: The Product Owner is responsible for creating and validating user stories to align with the product strategy. Prioritizing these backlog items based on their importance and working with System Architects to support architectural needs are key tasks. This ensures that the team is strategically focused and capable of delivering quality results.
● Supporting the Team in Delivering Value: Balancing Feedback and Ensuring Quality:
Effective balance of stakeholder feedback and insights helps in making informed implementation decisions. The Product Owner also resolves questions, manages dependencies, and ensures compliance with quality standards. Active participation in team events like planning, reviews, and retrospectives fosters a collaborative and productive environment.
● Getting and Applying Feedback: Hypothesis Testing and Feedback Incorporation:
Collaborating with Product Management to define and test benefit hypotheses is essential.
Gathering feedback from various sources, such as interviews and demos, and sharing it during planning events ensures continuous improvement. The Product Owner refines the product vision, strategy, and design based on this feedback, leading to a product that consistently meets user needs and expectations.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/AI/MachineLearning, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
● Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in informatics, software development, or technology platforms.
● Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile tools.
● Strong understanding of Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning methods and their application in the corporate context.
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to balance customer-centric thinking with technical feasibility and stakeholder needs.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 

Preferred Skills:
● Certification in Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO/PM)
● Understanding Data Mesh
● Experience with Lean UX and Design Thinking principles.
● Understanding of market analysis and business drivers in the informatics field.
● Familiarity with application telemetry, usage analytics, and financial reporting.
