We know companies that embrace diversity in all its forms not only deliver stronger business results, but also become a force for good, fueling stronger business performance and greater opportunity for employees, partners, investors and communities to succeed.The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Global Government Relations team:The Associate Director, State and Local Government Relations is responsible for all aspects of State and Local Government Relations (State GR) for the Western Region of the U.S., including (among other states) AZ, CA, TX, WA and CO. The Western Region is an important region in the U.S. for State GR. Over 40,000 RTX employees work in the region at dozens of major facilities. The region has many active economic incentive projects worth many millions of dollars, where RTX is receiving state and local money in exchange for company commitments to grow.This position reports directly to the Vice President, State and Local Government Relations and will work closely with the entire Global Government Relations function.What You Will Do• Continuous high-level engagement with senior government officials, including governors, senior legislators and staff, as well as members of the U.S. Congress and staff, in close coordination with RTX GR federal lobbyists.• Responsible for representing the company's brand and interests with government officials.• Advocacy on a variety of matters, including tax, environmental, energy, labor, and economic policy.• Responsible for negotiating and securing economic incentives for company expansion.• Liaison with RTX facility managers in region and coordination of facility visits with federal and state officials.• Crisis management responsibilities include notification to officials regarding company job reductions and facility closures, and coordination with officials on natural disasters and other crises.• Engagement with RTX Corporate and BU senior leadership, including BU presidents. Supervision of third-party consultants in several states.• Represent company on numerous business and community organizations throughout region.• Travel up to 50%, or as needed.Qualifications You Must Have• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience.• Progressive experience working in the aerospace and defense industry with relevant experience working with Congressional and State & Local Government offices.• Must be authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship nor or in the future; RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.Qualifications We Prefer• Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating agility and flexibility. Comfortable managing risk decisions.Location• Western Region, U.S; preferably in Arizona, Texas, Colorado, or California. Other states within the Western Region will be considered as well. Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.Minimum Program QualificationsTo qualify for the RTX Re-Empower Program, candidates should:• Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application• Have prior experience in functional area of interest• Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time positionThe salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.This role is a U.S.-based role.
