The ideal candidate will reside within proximity of our Carmel, IN HQ for a hybrid schedule (3 days/week), however, fully remote candidates in an EST time zone outside of the area will also be considered.

We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a Senior Brand Designer who will join our in-house creative team to create engaging work used in various digital, social and print channels aligned with the brand to bring ideas to life. At OPENLANE, designers work with videographers, developers, content writers, marketing strategists, product design teams and key business partners to help the world’s largest automotive leaders buy, sell and trade used vehicles.
You’re an ideal candidate for this position if you’re an experienced brand designer with marketing know-how that is comfortable using a variety of technology tools to get the job done. You take the time to fully understand the customer and employee journey and their challenges in order to uncover the most successful solutions. You’re just as happy brainstorming big-picture strategy as you are creating campaign emails with high attention to design system details. And you’re excited to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment that requires self-direction as well as collaboration.
You Will:
  • Serve as a creative team design lead by collaborating with fellow creatives and members of the MARCOMM team to support all phases of the creative process — from participating in strategy discussions and creative brief reviews to articulating design rationale and delivering final deliverables that meet business goals and solve real stakeholder problems.
  • Maintain existing company design requirements and develop new solutions to brand challenges through your creative work to support OPENLANE business, customers and internal teams. You will produce work through various mediums, including but not limited to, Adobe CC, Figma, Canva and Google Slides for a variety of deliverables from websites and emails to flyers and social media campaigns. Design work requires high attention to detail and creative leadership to pitch ideas to project stakeholders.
  • Think beyond the artboard and have an interest in OPENLANE products, goals, campaign results and continuous improvement for yourself and the work produced. Be a champion for our brands and design best practices across all of our businesses and support OPENLANE brands in achieving our vision of building the world’s greatest digital marketplaces for used vehicles.
Must Have's:
  • 5-7 years of professional design experience for digital and print content.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Design or related field.
  • Previous experience working at a creative/marketing agency or in-house brand team.
  • A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates strong customer/brand case studies, visual design skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in design software including Figma, Adobe CC product suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Google slides and Canva.
  • Experience designing websites, landing pages, email marketing campaigns, social media campaigns, presentations, brand identity systems, event and point of sale signage and traditional print media (working directly with print vendors and preparing files for print production).
  • Expert knowledge of visual design, interaction design, advertising and typography. Familiarity with product design, UX design processes and digital best practices.
  • Experience working with multiple brands with unique styles and tones of voice.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across a company.
  • At ease managing multiple projects within a project management tool, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams.
  • Experience using research to evaluate your content’s impact and push for continuous improvement that shows results.
Nice to Have's:
  • Proficiency in AfterEffects.
  • An interest in learning new tools/software and standardizing design processes to improve team efficiency whenever possible.
