Senior New Business Manager
Salary £55k-£75k | Permanent | Reporting to Nick Birkett (VP, Impact)
We are looking for a Senior New Business Manager to generate sales and help us increase the volume and velocity of quality leads coming into our new business funnel in the UK.
This role will also focus on developing compelling and mutually beneficial partnerships that can generate warm referrals for the business; as well as on curating lead generation campaigns, both physical and digital, that bring qualified new leads into the sales funnel.
You will benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working although some office work will be required to interact with the broader team. Our head office is in West London so you should be able to work from there at least 2 days per week. If you are based in Manchester / Birmingham / another major UK city you should still apply as we are expanding to more locations.
In your role as Senior New Business Manager you will be expected to think creatively about the market opportunity and prioritise sales leads, partnerships and initiatives that can generate a large volume of quality new business.
You will have a deep understanding of our value proposition, will be able to establish credibility with, and sell effectively to, key industry partners, and you will conceive and execute compelling lead generation campaigns, to enable us to maximise our market potential.
- Build your own pipeline of new business opportunities, to meet or exceed agreed sales targets
- Develop and lead team sales strategies to execute our growth plan
- Own and manage the entire sales process from lead to deal, taking ownership of all aspects of the sale, from pitching to drafting compelling proposals to organising samples to negotiating trading agreements
- Contribute to the development of compelling consultative pitches and presentations using industry knowledge, market trends, and the unique solutions provided through the Collectiv Food platform
- Work closely with your team members in the sales, marketing and buying teams to source the right contacts, target with effective messaging and align each other's activities
- Present needs-based value add solutions and high-quality responses to tenders and RFPs – from contextual understanding through to research approach and pricing
- Take responsibility for positively building client relationships over time as their trusted go-to advisor in food sourcing and procurement
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies for client accounts, and deliver on those strategies to build a strong and sustainable pipeline of new business
- Develop deep relationships with key influencers in the market to help build a demand for our service with target buyers
- Consistently track activity in our CRM in order to provide the business with key metrics and data.
- Collaborate with our tight-knit team of buying managers, operations managers, technology engineers and product managers to improve and develop ways of working that better serve our clients
- Contribute to the retention and motivation of a talented and high-quality commercial team
- Work effectively alongside a driven team, dually motivated by building an exciting business and leaving the world a better place than we found it
- Demonstrable experience in sales / business development / partnerships / lead generation / pre-sales, with a track record of successfully creating pipeline & engagement in partnerships and assistance in driving revenue
- You will ideally have experience and at least interest in either selling B2B solutions to corporates or working within the food service or hospitality sector
- Excellent communication skills: you are a clear thinker, speaker, and writer; creative in messaging and visually presenting when required

- Ambitious, with real drive to learn and grow
- You speak more than one language such as French
- Experience in a start-up environment preferred
- You have worked in the food wholesale and supply chain industry
- You understand the complexity of perishable products and food supply chains
