We are seeking a Senior Specialist Communications to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN.

Job Summary:
Serve as an external spokesperson for Nissan division, delivering company messages with an emphasis on reaching potential customers through targeting appropriate media outlets.
Establish and grow strong relationships with regional, national and emerging media through proactive outreach
Responsible for the coordination, planning and support of strategic product launches for all new products within Nissan, including media ride-and-drives, auto shows, corporate events and regional media events within the U.S.
Support the strategy, operations and inventory for regional press fleets to maximize coverage in target publications, working with regional press fleet offices
Develop press materials, as well as ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations, and other public relations activities that promote awareness of the brand, vehicles and technologies.
Maintain a close and trusted relationship with executive management members to engage the media when appropriate, prepare executives for key media events, collaborative strategic planning and supporting the needs of their specific business functions.
Effectively manage and engage the various vendors and agencies that support the Nissan Product Communications team on a daily basis
Provide communications advice and direction, and supervise performance of external public relations counsel

Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred in public relations, communications or marketing
Six (6) or more years of public relations experience in a corporate or agency environment (Automotive experience an asset)
Previous experience working with an extensive network of media contacts including, lifestyle, business, local and automotive media is preferred
Proven ability to work with agencies and outside resources in order to achieve company objectives, strategic public relations goals, including campaign based work and general media relations activities
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to efficiently organize complex and multi-faceted projects
Experience in managing agency teams and working cross-functionally in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, media monitoring software applications and social media platforms
Hybrid work schedule with 25% overnight travel
