Junior Designer

Situation, an award-winning agency built for live entertainment and experience-based clients like WICKED on Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera, seeks a designer with motion graphics experience to develop creative for Arts & Entertainment clients. This role will report to the Art Director. The selected candidate has a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting high-quality work that adheres to our client’s brand standards and achieves our strategic goals.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Designer, you’ll support the creation of visually compelling and impactful work that resonates with live entertainment audiences. You’ll collaborate with the team to expand our clients’ visual identity across digital platforms and execute design ideas with creativity and attention to detail.

Working alongside Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copywriters, Social Media Managers, and Project Managers, you’ll learn and grow in a dynamic environment that encourages exploration and innovation. With guidance and mentorship, you’ll contribute to the development of designs that engage and inspire.

Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Assist in conceptualizing and creating designs across various digital mediums, including basic motion graphics and animations.
  • Support the team in aligning work to client brand standards while maintaining a fresh perspective.
  • Ensure high-quality and consistent work across deliverables.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas backed by research and insights.
  • Attend team meetings, client calls, and presentations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to meet deadlines and address challenges.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a creative role, ideally at an agency or similar environment.
  • A portfolio showcasing polished, well-thought designs and a range of creative projects.
  • Basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign) and a willingness to improve your skills in motion design.
  • A strong sense of typography and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within a team.
  • Interest and/or experience in arts and live entertainment preferred.
