Summer Conference Assistant

The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University’s Manchester, NH campus is hiring temporary Summer Conference Assistants. The Conference & Event Services Summer Staff position is a 35-40 hour/week position, with some overtime required. You will be assigned to the role between May 12th – August 22nd, 2025. During the summer months, our Conference and Event Services team provides housing in our residence halls and apartments to several conference groups. The office also hosts many day conferences and meetings. You will provide front-line quality service to guests staying in the conference housing areas.  Summer Staff are supervised by the Summer Programs Manager but will assist all members of the office staff.

What you'll do:

  • General Responsibilities:

    • Represent the Conference & Event Services office.

    • Provide service to guests and staff.

    • Help with event coordination, facility maintenance requests, and administrative tasks.

    • Attend required training sessions and weekly staff meetings.

  • Office Responsibilities:

    • Provide administrative support, answer calls, and assist with administrative tasks (e.g., event signage, marketing, budgeting, social media).

    • Coordinate events alongside a full-time event planner.

  • Group Activity Management:

    • Manage on- and off-campus activities.

    • Collect payments and provide transportation for guests.

  • Guest Services & Housing:

    • Prepare and service guest rooms (bed-making, linen collection, trash removal).

    • Manage room check-ins/outs, key distribution, and guest requests.

    • Maintain and order linens.

    • Enforce university policies and assist Public Safety.

What we're looking for:

  • Must be a registered SNHU student for Spring & Fall/Summer 2025 with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive for the University.

  • Availability for 35-40+ hours per week, including weekends and nights.

  • Must be able to reside on campus throughout the assignment duration.

  • Online classes are permitted; in-person classes or second jobs require approval.

Compensation

The anticipated pay for this position is $14.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
