Position Overview
The Public Sector Software Solutions Representative drives incremental sales and provides superior service to clients and field sales representatives within their assigned territory. Incumbents manage all aspects of the client relationship to ensure satisfaction and growth. The Public Sector Software Solutions Representative gathers and builds upon account information to leverage sales, generate additional sales and improve upon the business relationship. The Public Sector Software Solutions Representative is a point of reference for the team on all software licensing, department processes, and company procedures.
What you’ll do at Insight
- Service accounts thoroughly by processing orders and quotes, answering inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, credit, and volume licensing questions via phone or email.
- Develop a bond with field sales counterparts to develop assigned accounts and proactively contact clients within the team selling model.
- Ensure overall client satisfaction by monitoring all activity for designated accounts, including phone reports, sales order queues, etc.
- Research and propose functional software solutions to clients and promote the sale of additional products.
- Attend client presentations, as required.
- Adhere to individual, team, and department quotas and service level agreements.
- Be the subject matter expert on client-specific licensing agreements.
- Work with clients proactively to activate Software Assurance (SA) benefits, renewal and TBI notifications and pricing.
- Train Customer Service Reps (off shore resources) and Public Sector Software Solutions Reps/Associates on client requirement and product information. Act as an escalation point for issues.
- Interact with other departments to resolve client issues, as needed.
- Be the subject matter expert on Microsoft licensing quoting and programs.
- Develop and cultivate a strong working/selling relationship with internal operations teams and business partner managers.
- Interact regularly with appropriate vendor partners for accounts and maintain a strong relationship with those partners. Play a role in vendor days, going after additional market-share with existing and new clients.
- Provide updates on pipeline opportunities to management.
- Assist clients with the web tool set up process; train and assist Public Sector Software Solutions Reps/Associates; and relay client needs to eServices Department.
- Maintain and update client information in the Customer Account Profile, as needed.
- Become familiar with, and adhere to, Company guidelines regarding, but not limited to, discount pricing, billing, etc.
- Provide feedback regarding team and individual productivity to Inside Software Sales (ISS) management. Provide updates for skills assessment ideas, and be actively involved in looking for opportunities to raise the bar for the department.
- Attend Company, vendor, and publisher trainings and webinars, as required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job, as well as being available to stay late as needed with month/quarter end sales activities.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Work with Insight Public Sector cross functional teams such as compliance and contracts to ensure all quotes and orders transact on the correct contract vehicle and adhere to Insight’s compliance practices.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- College education and/or four years customer service experience required, as well as successful experience as an Public Sector Software Solutions Representative at Insight.
- Must be able to clearly articulate Return on Investment (ROI) to clients and prospects to sell value versus price.
- Knowledge in quoting and ordering required.
- Must have a working knowledge of Insight’s vision and software asset management strategy.
- Must have experience with successfully handling escalations from either teammates and/or clients.
- Proven experience in leading a team a plus.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), organization, and time management skills required.
- Solid problem solving and consultative skills a must.
- Must be self-driven, motivated and results-oriented.
- Able to build relationships and quickly develop trust with clients, as well as internal personnel, needed.
- Must be able to solve problems thoroughly and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to adhere to tight service level agreements (SLAs) and be able to multi-task effectively.
- Must be able to promote and demonstrate Company core values.
- Able to work with minimum supervision required.
- Effective use of PC including Microsoft Office required.

The base salary range for this position is typically $50,000 to 70,000 with additional bonus and benefits available. However, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, including experience and location, and we will also consider candidates outside of this range as necessary.
