As a Data Scientist/Product Analyst Intern, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment.You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. Our goal is both to support your growth and development while empowering you for a successful start to your career.What you’ll get to do• Work on a short term project combining data science and product management• Drive visible business impact with concrete goals set by you and your mentor• Learn about Splunk, both the product and the company• Work and socialize with other interns and full-time Splunkers• Collaborate with diverse partners to help them make data driven decisions around how to improve our products• Grow your technical and business skillsMust-have Qualifications• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement.• At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship• Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeksNice-to-have QualificationsWe’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.• You possess superb interpersonal and communication skills• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills• You are willing to explore open-ended questions and present compelling arguments using data• You know how to use Excel, SQL, and visualization tools such as Tableau• You can apply statistics to real-life business problems• You can articulate a business case and dissect the value proposition of a product• You have previous internship in a related field• Bonus if you can build searches and dashboards in SplunkOur Splunktern Program allows incoming interns the flexibility to choose from three start dates in 2025, currently anticipated to be:• Mon, May 19 - Fri, Aug 8• Mon, June 2 - Fri, Aug 22• Mon, June 16 - Fri, Sept 5Candidates should consider their availability to start on one of these three dates prior to submitting an application.
