We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Smalltalk, a team of Mobile Engineers whose primary focus is enhancing the podcast creator experience on mobile, providing creators with an on-the-go experience optimized for high frequency engagement with Spotify. As engineering manager, you will be responsible for managing a high functioning agile team that values quality, speed, and engineering best practices.
What You'll Do- Collaborate closely with product and design to define a winning product strategy and a cutting-edge roadmap, prioritizing technical excellence.
- Own the entire development lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch support, by partnering with product and design while championing the engineering perspective.
- Foster a culture of "anything is possible" within the engineering team, inspiring them to tackle ambitious challenges.
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationships to ensure project success by identifying needs, communicating clearly, and proactively managing expectations.
- Lead by example, mentoring and coaching your engineering team to achieve career and personal growth.
- Implement an effective sprint planning process and stand-up meetings to ensure your team consistently meets deadlines and launch goals.
- Champion a delivery approach that balances high-quality output with rapid development, maximizing business impact while minimizing technical debt.
- Play an active role in the hiring process, conducting interviews and contributing to hiring decisions to build a strong engineering team.

The United States base range for this position is $156,000 - $223,000 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
