Account Specialist -Retail Consumer Financing
Job Summary: The Account Specialist provides customer support to the finance and collections department.
Reports To: Collections Manager
Key Responsibilities:
  •  General account management in fast-paced goal-oriented collections department for a major Houston/Katy area Retailer.
  •  Provides customer support with collection issues, account disputes, accounting adjustments and related matters.
  •  Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
  •  Can be involved in fraud investigations, legal issues, and credit research.
  • ·Establish effective and cooperative relationships with senior level managers.
  •  Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Credit/Collections Department.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of credit and/or collections experience
  • 2-3 years of general office administration experience
  • General knowledge of credit, finance, and collections
  • Strong attention to detail with a goal focus
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • AS400 systems experience a plus.

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets, and other office equipment. This position may require some travel to outlying store locations.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is position and hours of work would routinely be 40 hours per week. Given the nature of the position, there will be occasions where extra hours may be needed.
