As a Senior Product Designer at Starbucks, you will play a key role in innovating, executing, and refining digital experiences across our rewards, innovation, and customer engagement space. Your work will shape the future of our digital presence, driving customer acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, and retention as well as business success.You love solving customer facing problems with your team in a highly collaborative environment. Your ability to influence strategy, be a design leader, and work cross-functionally with multiple teams in Design, Engineering, and Product Management teams is crucial. You’re a fierce advocate for the Starbucks omnichannel customer experience from the stores to the app and web. You have a passion for making design accessible for all, and are obsessed with good design from function to form. You have visual design chops, understand visual hierarchy and the ways to best optimize what’s visually presented to the customer at any given time. You have an earnest, mature, and ego-free attitude that welcomes candid feedback. The quality of this experience in a digital context depends on great design, and the opportunity to innovate at a global scale is huge.As a senior designer, Customer Engagement & Innovation, you will…• Collaborative Product Design: Partner with product teams to design major customer features in app and web. Effectively communicate the rationale and context behind your design decisions and connecting it with business results.• UX Vision: Help steward the vision and value of UX design and research within cross-functional teams, ensuring that user-centric design is at the forefront of our product development process.• Feature Definition: Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize features that address business needs, ensuring a seamless user experience across all platforms.• Interaction Design: Design intuitive and engaging interactions for new features, leveraging and expanding upon existing design patterns.• Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with other product designers, providing constructive feedback to elevate the quality and consistency of our collective work.• Data-driven Design: Collaborate with data scientists and user researchers to assess the effectiveness and impact of your designs, making informed decisions to enhance user satisfaction.• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering new features, bug fixes, and incremental improvements in response to customer needs.• Prototyping and Tooling: Utilize Figma and other design tools to build and prototype designs, quickly iterating based on feedback.• Innovative Collaboration: Bring creativity and a positive attitude to collaborative efforts, contributing to a dynamic and enjoyable work environment.We’d love to hear from people with:• Professional Experience: 2-5 years of customer facing design experience, ideally in building and shipping digital products at scale. While the number of years is important, we place greater value on the quality of your design and the impact it has had on customers.• Strong Visual Design Proficiency: A portfolio showcasing strength in innovative concepts, systems thinking, and polished visual designs with meticulous attention to typography, spacing, and color.• Growth Design: Experience shipping fast-paced experiments, A/B testing, and an understanding of the emotional and experiential components across the product. Very proficient using data to inform design rationale while also probing for deeper user motivations. Adept at knowing when you need a chainsaw, and when you need a chisel for experimentation.• Effective Communication: Strong ability to clearly articulate conceptual ideas, design rationale, and detailed design elements, both verbally and visually.• Product Lifecycle Involvement: Proven experience in a product organization, driving the design processes from initial planning through to multiple successful releases.• Comprehensive UX Expertise: Expertise in UX strategy, interaction design, user research, prototyping, visual design, and driving user adoption.• Collaborative Development: Experience working closely with developers to iterate designs, ensuring both functional excellence and pixel-perfect execution.• Trend Awareness: Up-to-date with the latest digital trends and design process methodologies, constantly integrating new insights into your work.As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.If you live in the greater Seattle area, we offer a flexible workplace that allows for hybrid work.
