Senior/Staff Software Engineer

Company: Series B AI healthtech startup - company disclosed upon intro call

Role: Senior/Staff Software Engineer

Location: West Coast (PST) Remote US

Compensation: $150-190k base DOE + equity options


We're serial founders who recently secured an industry-leading Series B funding round with our FDA-cleared computer vision solutions. As a Senior/Staff Fullstack Engineer on our team, you will work on both internal and customer-facing software products. You should have extensive recent experience with API design, architecture, and system design (in the last 6-12 months.)


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable and maintainable web applications using modern software engineering principles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and provide guidance to junior developers
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in web applications and implement solutions to improve scalability
  • Architect and design complex systems


Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Extensive experience with JavaScript (We are a Typescript environment)
  • Node/Express/Serverless experience
  • Golang experience or knowledge a strong plus
  • SQS or Kafka experience
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns (API design, architecture & system design are vital parts of the job)
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment
