This role involves reviewing, monitoring, and overseeing Protective Custody practices across statewide prison complexes. Responsibilities include managing staff, programs, and safety needs, developing and managing protective custody programs, and ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations. This role involves reviewing, monitoring, and oversight of Restrictive Housing and Classification practices. Join us in our mission to create a safer environment for all.Apply now and be a part of something impactful!Job Duties:- Oversight of Protective Custody programs- Oversight of Restrictive Status Housing practices- Oversight of Classification Practices- Develop measures and complex reports for monitoring Restrictive Status Housing compliance- Conducts reviews and approvals of placements into restrictive housing- Reviews and approves custody classifications- Develops and manages program compliance with laws, rules, and regulations- Develops, implements, and trains on Protective Custody policies, programs, and practices for the agency- Creates and updates related policies and procedures- Analyze and evaluate Units activities to ensure goals and objectives are met- Leads, directs, and guides staff regarding work assignments, Protective Custody activities, and Classification and Restrictive Status Housing decisions- Advise executive management, division management, and staff on Protective Custody Classification and Population Management matters- Responsible for the safety and security of staff and inmates, the development and operations of work, education, and recreational programs for the inmates- Determines the classification and placement of inmates- Responsible for assigning classifications to incoming inmates, including protective custody, and documenting the reason for placement- Responsible for appropriate decisions regarding protective segregation requests- Completes required reports and correspondences as they relate to the assignment- Attends meetings- Drives on State business that may include overnight stays- Perform other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:- Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures- Organization movement, management of business practices, and work processing- Supervision- Basic understanding of Population Management- Arizona Offender Information Systems- Correctional management- Program operationsSkill in:- Managing- Organizing- Analytics- Problem solving- Maintaining interpersonal relations- Written and verbal communication- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets- Review data for appropriateness and timelines- Evaluate effectiveness of correctional programs and divisional operations based on objective dataAbility to:- Provide concise and accurate information as it relates to the assignment- Investigate- Problem resolution- Track, analyze, and report trends- Work effectively under deadlines- Handle multiple tasks- Work with self-motivation and minimal supervision- Work in a prison environmentSelective Preference(s):- Working knowledge of Correctional principles with an emphasis on restrictive housing and population management operations- Advanced skills with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel- Three (3) years minimum Administrator level experience with an emphasis on Prison operations and programmingPre-Employment Requirements:Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test consistent with Arizona Revised Statutes.If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply.
