As a Payroll Specialist Lead Worker, this position oversees two HR Tech. I/Payroll Specialist positions, providing guidance and assistance as needed. Position has significant knowledge of the OSC Integrated HR Payroll System (formerly Beacon) and provides salary administration for various classes. In addition to regular payroll processing and approval of personnel actions, position generates monthly payroll reports and audits actions as necessary. Responds to monthly error reports for the office, troubleshooting and taking appropriate corrective action to ensure all payroll issues are resolved prior to payroll deadline. Position is regularly responding to various data inquiring from management and is involved in various special projects. Position approves and processes large volumes of actions in an accurate and timely manner in order to meet payroll deadlines. Normal business hours are 8am-5pm.Must be able to travel overnight and work overtime as needed. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result. Salary Grade: NC07 Salary Range: $34,936-$61,137 The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following: Experience using the State of North Carolina’s OSC Integrated Human Resources Payroll Information System (BEACON) to view and/or maintain employee data in SAP. (SAP does not include Employee Self Service- ESS and LMS) Experience with being a lead worker and overseeing others work. Must be able to travel overnight and work overtime as needed. Associate s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
