Finance Intelligence Associate

Street Diligence is a high-growth FinTech start-up with an innovative product offering and ambitious expansion plans. Our clients include leading financial institutions that use our platform to analyze and negotiate advantageous terms in legal and financial contracts.  We break down key terms, identify what’s “market” and “off-market” and flags risks embedded in contract terms.  Our platform also provides unique visuals, benchmarking and comparison to place negotiations and contracts in context.  Founded in 2012, Street Diligence is headquartered in New York. 

THE ROLE 

Street Diligence is looking for a Finance Intelligence Associate to join our Machine Learning team and support our AI generation and model building. You will partner with engineers in all processes from data collection, cleaning, training models and developing them into production. The ideal candidate will be passionate about finance and the world of artificial intelligence as well as excited about learning the ins-and-outs of financial contracts. This role will be based in New York and report to the VP of Strategy and Director of Operations. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Deep dive into complex subjects, including understanding and manipulating large data sets 

  • Build machine learning models to cover the subject matter, eventually becoming a subject-matter experts across many financial transactions 

  • Understand business objectives and develop models that help to achieve them (along with metrics to track their progress) 

  • Understand machine learning frameworks and work with engineers to increase accuracy and efficiency of machine learning model building 

  • Leverage subject matter expertise to develop model validation strategies including identifying errors within models and designing strategies to overcome them 

  • Develop a long-term automation plan and KPIs to help focus on the goal and drive towards success, including reporting to management on progress 

  • Stay up-to-date on financial trends to ensure the company’s algorithms are always considering changes in the industry 
      

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • B.S. in Finance, Business, Statistics or similar degree 

  • 2+ years of experience in a financial, consulting, engineering or similar experience 

  • Background and interest in financial markets and transactions 

  • Comfortable with large data sets and analysis 

  • Curious about AI & financial transactions 

  • Creative problem-solving skills 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Project management experience 

  • Experience working with ML / AI models 

  • Comfortable with data science languages such as Python, SQL, or similar 

COMPENSATION

The target compensation range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity, and other factors relevant to the job.
