Solutions Engineer Intern

Are you passionate about bridging the gap between technology and business challenges? Summit is seeking a Solutions Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and present innovative solutions that address client needs. This internship offers hands-on experience in solution engineering, customer interaction, and SaaS technologies. 


What You’ll Do:
  • Assist in designing and implementing technical solutions that align with client requirements 
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to understand business needs and support solution development 
  • Participate in client meetings to gather technical requirements and provide input on possible solutions 
  • Help create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, proposals, and user guides 
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during implementation and post-deployment 
  • Support demo environments or proof-of-concepts that showcase our capabilities 
  • Contribute to internal tools and templates to enhance our pre-sales process 
  • Stay current on industry trends, cloud technologies, and enterprise IT best practices 
  • Learn how to communicate technical ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats

What We’re Looking For:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • Strong interest in cloud, enterprise tech, and client-facing problem solving 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team 
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt quickly, and take initiative 


Preferred Skills:
  • Basic understanding of SaaS platforms and cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS 
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git 
  • Experience with APIs, integrations, or web services 
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies or experience on Agile teams 
  • Previous internship, co-op, or project-based experience related to solutions engineering or technical consulting 


Internship Details:
  • Commitment: 15-20 hours per week during the academic year, with the option to increase to full-time during summer.  
  • Duration: 6-9 months, flexible based on availability.  
  • Compensation: $19 - $24 per hour
