Founded in 2020, Supersocial operates a cutting-edge studio and a next-generation agency, developing, producing and publishing world-class games, experiences and brand worlds on Roblox, metaverse, and other emerging platforms. Supersocial was founded by Yonatan Raz-Fridman “Yon" (CEO), Pedro Romi (CFO), Luiza Justus (Head of Creative) and Tatiana Wlasek (Chief Operations Officer), together bringing demonstrable track record in building and scaling consumer tech companies and brands. Our CEO Yon is recognized as a trailblazer and thought leader in the metaverse space both for his work with Supersocial and his podcast Into The Metaverse.


Our special sauce is combining creator talent who grew up on the Roblox platform with creatives and operators with decades of experience building consumer brands and telling stories in creative ways. The Supersocial team combines deep Roblox expertise with AAA experience and creative storytellers who, together, design cutting edge experiences that feels authentic to metaverse communities.



HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT


  • We are looking for a driven and incredibly proficient Head of Engineering who is excited about helping Supersocial teams build cutting-edge, platform-defining experiences. You will provide technical guidance and expertise from prototyping to architecture to scalability in the form of a servant leader, collaborating closely with multi-discipline product teams. This is a unique opportunity to partner with development teams from the earliest stage of development, help establish technical and organizational foundation, and support the journey through production, live operations and into the hands of millions of delighted players.


  • You will lead the engineering discipline across Supersocial’s portfolio of games and experiences, shaping a resilient technical vision and supporting the execution of product teams’ roadmaps in partnership with lead engineers and producers.


  • You will create and evolve a technology strategy that is aligned with project goals and initiatives and serves the needs of the experience, developers and its player-base. You will help prioritize building features our players crave in the most effective and efficient way. You will be expected to foresee potential roadblocks and pitfalls, and collaborate in identifying efficient solutions.


  • As Head of Engineering you will be responsible for overseeing multiple engineers across various projects to ensure engineering excellence standards are being met, while growing and developing the team.


YOU'LL ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU CAN...

  • Develop the technology plan and oversee all technical design and development on the multiple teams
  • Work closely with lead engineers and engineers in early evaluation of feature’s technical feasibility, translating game concepts into technical needs and tools.
  • Provide critical analysis of technology and development practices with the goal of improving platform quality and team efficiency and fostering a positive working environment.
  • Plan optimal technical solutions to modernize services and develop stable games
  • Articulate the player value of technical decisions and partner with Lead Developer and Project Managers, to collectively make good trade-offs between technical quality, technical debt, and shipping features
  • Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks and maintain the technological evolution of current and future products.
  • Recruit, nurture, and retain an engineering organization with the skills, capacity, and adaptability to navigate uncertainty and deliver on the changing needs of the project
  • Develop the teams growth by providing mentorship, overseeing performance management and enabling growth opportunities with impactful outcomes


QUALIFICATIONS


Must have


  • 5+ years of experience with a proven track-record in similar role and have full proficiency of all aspects of programming 
  • Be passionate about developing complex game systems
  • Effective Communication: You communicate frequently, directly and clearly. You are great at giving feedback and receiving feedback.
  • Demonstrable track-record of working on a successful game from launch to scale
  • Ability to deliver all tasks assigned at the level of quality required, in the timeframe assigned, in order to meet the project deliverables
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to operate in ambiguity and roll up your sleeves
  • Experience working with Github and Rojo

Nice to Have


  • Experience with the Roblox platform

  • Experience working with a distributed / remote team
  • Worked on a full project life cycle involving multiple disciplines
