Director of Product Design

Position Summary:

As a Design Director, you’ll be responsible for developing and growing our product design and UXR team. You’ll guide designers towards the best possible design and UX outcomes for our members while teaching them to stay mindful of business needs and constraints. You’ll lead by example as you facilitate cross-functional collaborations and identify opportunities for the design team to operate more strategically, holistically, and effectively. You’ll work closely with our VP of Product as you establish a gold standard for design execution and a vision for the future of Swiftly’s products.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Proven track record of owning and elevating a design function in a fast-growing company
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UX/UI design skills across web and mobile platforms
  • Experience in commerce, loyalty, or related complex product areas
  • Demonstrated ability to shape product strategy through collaborative partnerships with engineering and product teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into design decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate design vision to all levels of the organization
  • Experience building and leading high-performing design teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term vision
  • Other duties as assigned 


Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of product design experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Experience leading design in a startup environment through significant growth phases
  • Background in designing design systems for multi-channel platforms
  • Experience with design systems and scaling design processes
  • 7+ years of proven history shipping consumer mobile and/or web products
  • 3+ years of experience managing and building small design teams
  • Confidence working with modern design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, InVision
  • Proven ability to work with engineering teams and product managers to create the best possible experience given difficult constraints
  • Experience designing based on user research such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A mix of startup and large software company experience 


$155,000 - $175,000 a year
The salary range is based on the candidates experience as it relates to the role.
