Job Summary
The Undergraduate Research Assistant is expected to perform academic research under the direction of a faculty member or related to the Computer Science filed and the grant activities and encouraged to disseminate their results at professional conferences and journals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research and collect data through complex techniques and procedures.
Assist with data management and perform basic statistical analyses.
Develop assessment and evaluation tools.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates.
Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students.
Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications.
Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other Requirements
Submit a final report that follow a standardized journal publication format in that field.
Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.
Promptly complete all required training.
Submit time sheet biweekly.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Subject to funding and/or need.
Pay of Rate: $12.50/hour for up to 10 hours weekly
