Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Master Data architect to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and master data management within our clients. In this role, you will manage both the strategy for ensuring data quality, security, and compliance, and the design of a robust master data architecture that supports critical business processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Business Process Owners, and data stewards, to maintain the integrity and consistency of key data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance Framework Development: Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures data quality, security, and compliance across the organization.
  • Master Data Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of a master data management architecture that ensures the consistency and integrity of critical business data (e.g., customer, product, financial data).
  • · Master Data Management (MDM) Strategy: Define and manage the MDM strategy and processes, ensuring that master data is centralized, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
  • Data Quality and Consistency: Establish data quality metrics, KPIs, and standards to monitor and ensure the consistency and integrity of master data across all systems.
  • Metadata Management: Implement and maintain metadata management practices that support data traceability, governance, and accessibility.
  • Data Stewardship: Work closely with data stewards and business units to define data ownership, responsibilities, and governance roles for master data entities.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that data governance practices, particularly related to master data, adhere to regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and other industry-specific requirements.
  • Integration of Master Data Systems: Collaborate with IT teams to integrate master data across the organization’s enterprise applications and ensure that the integration supports business processes.
  • Data Access and Security: Define data access protocols, security measures, and privacy policies to safeguard sensitive and critical master data.
  • Data Governance Policies and Standards: Develop and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards for managing master data across departments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams (business leaders, IT, compliance) to align data governance and master data management strategies with organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve data governance and master data management processes to drive business value, address challenges, and adopt emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  •  5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or master data management.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, master data management principles, and data quality best practices.
  • Experience with Master Data Management tools (e.g., Master data models, SAP MDG, Oracle MDM).
  • Expertise in data architecture, metadata management, and data integration processes.
  • Strong experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and data stewards.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Master Data Management (e.g., MDM certification) or in Data Governance (e.g., DGSP, CDMP).
  • Experience in data architecture and integration design.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, and Alation).
  • Experience in industries with complex data requirements (e.g, life sciences, finance, retail).
