Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Normal Brand is a family owned, fast-growing, apparel company that operates through its 11 owned brick and mortar stores, online, and in over 500 stores around the world. The company started in the brothers’ parents’ basement in 2015, and has scaled quickly. We believe that a sharp outfit can take a person’s day from good to better, and that matters.The Assistant Designer will be responsible for providing administrative assistance and organizational support to the Design Department, with a primary focus on data management and clerical duties and a secondary focus on design with mentoring.Responsibilities• Assist the senior designer with sketching of the product line.• Create and maintain tech packs, line sheets, and all visual files for design presentations.• Collaborate & communicate with tech, sourcing, and vendor base daily.• Collaborate in approvals of submits for fabrics, trims, colors, and fits.• Attend all design related meetings and assist with preparation and organization.• Work with tech team and senior designer for training in flat sketching, fitting, and communication of design intents to all departments involved in approval processes.• Meet all internal deadlines as planned.RequirementsAbove all, a person who joins our team must be three things: humble, hungry, smart (we stole that from a book written by a guy much smarter than us). In addition, to the humble, hungry, and smart requirements for all teammates, for this role, here are some other things we are looking for:• 0-2+ years of experience• Proficient in Creative Suite including AI and PS• Knowledge of CAD sketching• Must be organized, dependable, flexible, and responsible• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills• Self-starter who sets high goals and works hard to achieve them• Tolerates uncertainty and can change priorities in a fast-paced environment• Solution oriented with a positive attitudeBenefitsWe offer the chance for growth.
