We are where innovation meets purpose; and where your career can meet purpose as well.  We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will play a critical strategic and operational leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the processes that enable our engineering services team to scale efficiently and sustain long-term growth. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to define strategic alignment, delivery roadmaps, and the structures and tools that enable rapid growth and high-performance execution.

This role reports directly to the vice president of engineering with direct supervisor responsibilities for a diverse team of technical contributors. The role requires strong leadership, a servant leadership mindset, emotional intelligence, and deep expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Lean principles. You will drive operational excellence, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the engineering department operates as a highly performing, strategically aligned organization capable of delivering rapid product outcomes.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-team orchestration and high-impact product delivery, driving strategic alignment and organizational performance to ensure consistent delivery of high-value products to customers. You will own the definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) and oversee the creation of dashboards that provide visibility and insights, enabling data-driven strategic and tactical decisions to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will mentor and empower cross-functional delivery teams—such as Project Managers, Agile/Scrum Coaches, and Systems Engineers—to ensure alignment with business and customer priorities. You will drive collaboration across engineering and product teams, guiding delivery outcomes from concept to release while fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Your ability to coordinate complex initiatives and provide strategic direction will be essential to delivering impactful solutions that meet customer needs.

What will you do?

  • Own and drive engineering delivery outcomes, ensuring high-value products meet business and customer objectives.
  • Align delivery strategies with evolving business goals, market demands, and customer priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams—Project Managers, Agile Coaches, and Systems Engineers—fostering collaboration and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Mentor and develop Delivery Team Leads to become effective, disciplined, and empowered decision-makers.
  • Define, measure, and report on key performance metrics, enabling transparent, data-driven decisions.
  • Build scalable delivery processes, frameworks, and governance structures to support growth and operational maturity.
  • Partner with leadership to establish roadmaps, manage dependencies, and resolve critical delivery challenges.
  • Champion Agile, Scrum, and Lean best practices to optimize delivery speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Design and maintain dashboards to visualize performance and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, removing bottlenecks and enhancing delivery efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Act as an performance coach and change leader, guiding teams through organizational growth and transformation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Systems Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience leading teams in Agile/Scrum environments, preferably in software development organizations.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements, establish Lean workflows, and scale Agile practices.
  • Strong experience mentoring and developing leaders, ensuring teams are high-performing, engaged, and collaborative.
  • Servant leadership approach with demonstrated emotional intelligence and coaching mindset.
  • Experience supervising project managers, Agile/Scrum coaches, and systems engineers, providing guidance and support to drive their effectiveness.
  • Experience designing and optimizing engineering delivery processes at scale.
  • Expertise in Agile metrics, performance tracking, and data-driven delivery management.
  • Ability to define and maintain dashboards and KPIs that align engineering performance with business and customer outcomes.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable delivery frameworks and roadmaps.
  • Strong capability to partner with leadership to align engineering execution with strategic business goals.
  • Experience leading cross-team coordination efforts, resolving dependencies, and improving delivery flow.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across multiple teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and leadership teams.
  • This position requires a minimum of three days work onsite (Tuesday to Thursday) at one of our facilities in Tampa FL, Nashville TN or McLean VA. Remaining days are worked remotely from a company approve home office location.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, or MBA
  • Experience with large-scale Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, Nexus).
  • Prior experience in DevOps, QA, or software architecture is a plus.
  • Background in Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) or Agile Program Management.
  • Experience in high-growth, fast-paced technology organizations.

  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Applicants must be willing and eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
