About the Role:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the entire accounting cycle including all debt accounting, treasury and bank accounting, sales commission calculations, credit card receipt reconciliations, and accrual accounting. The position will be the only Full Time Employee (FTE) dedicated to general accounting and the month end close process. In addition, the Senior Accountant will provide guidance to global subsidiaries on the US GAAP accounting process and controls. This position will also play a key role in the numerous audits the company has to comply with.
The Impact You'll Make:
Manage accounting reserves and provide analysis on variance drivers. Engage with business partners to increase visibility and analysis around reserves. Assess feasibility and implement initiative recommendations for accounting practices and accruals. Ensuring appropriate reserves are maintained and collaborate with these business partners to ensure accurate reporting to management.
Review of monthly accounting close process including analytical review of key performance measure reports and to ensure accurate financial reporting and appropriate documentation and support of all financial entries.
Reconcile numerous monthly accounts, both balance sheet and income statement related.
Assess and propose systems enhancements and drive process improvement.
Ensure proper controls & interfaces for operations accounting and system subledger implementation.
Implement effective controls and processes in the accounting cycle.
Ensure that all department processes and procedures are appropriately documented and executed.
Supplement inventory team with accounting and reconciliations
What You Bring:
5-7 years of work experience, 3+ years public or internal audit + private experience
Proficient in SAP or similar ERP system
Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications
Good knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
Database warehousing experience such as BPC or Essbase
Proven ability to troubleshoot and improve business processes
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess outstanding follow through skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related business (preferred), together with proficiency in US GAAP accounting (required)
CPA - Active
Experience working in footwear, fashion, apparel, or CPG industries preferred
Commitment to making kindness in business a standard

This is a Direct Hire role with a target yearly salary range of $90,000 - $100,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus based on the company's performance
