Cost Accountant

This position will perform standard cost updates, variance analysis, and prepare financial reporting as well as participate and assist with the annual financial audit and other various company projects.Responsibilities• Ensure a high level of accuracy in all aspects of cost data reporting, especially in regard to financial statement impact.• Support the financial group in the monthly and annual closing process.• Provide reporting as necessary for variance analysis.• Assist in preparing cost of goods sold and production reports.• Work with our outside auditing firm to support the annual financial audit.• Assist with the analysis of cost of materials, labor and overhead for variance to standards.• Support the review of opportunities for reduction in production and inventory costs.• Perform account reconciliations of inventory accounts.• Assist in development of ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.• Assist in developing and analyzing cost standardsQualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or similar field required.• Two or more years of related experience required.• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.• Be able to work well within teams and lead projects when required.• Strong Excel skills, especially in use of financial analysis tools.• Use of other Microsoft products such as Access and Word desirable.• High level of experience using ERP systems, preferably JD Enterprises or other similar systems.• Support the inventory, supply chain, sales and production groups with cost related inquiries and reporting as needed.The hours for this position are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.Company-paid background check, including credit check, required upon hire.
