About the RoleUber's Global Insurance Claims organization is responsible for further developing, creating and constantly innovating on processes and products to improve claim identification and reporting experience in order to bend the cost of insurance curve. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, intellectually-curious leader to make an impact in one of Uber's most critical divisions. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director, Chief Claims Officer as part of the Global Insurance organization and is based out of San Francisco, New York or Phoenix. If you're ready to go deep working on a rewarding set of challenges and if you've got the skills, experience, passion, and a strong team mentality this may be the right fit for you.What You'll Do• Be the voice for the Claims team by working closely with cross-functional teams, including actuaries, engineers, product managers, business partners and program managers, to support Claims Tech capabilities and priorities• Responsible for design and delivery of Claims Quality and Compliance• Leads knowledge management, providing internal and external Learning and Development related to claim identification, reporting and advocacy• Identifies and eliminates claim related fraud, leading our Special Investigation Unit (SIU) capabilities and tech.• Oversees Specialty Claim programs as well as future Uber launched products or acquired platforms. Develops and implements claim processes for new emerging Uber programs and/or markets.Basic Qualifications• 10+ years claims or actuarial experience, with a variety of roles/perspectives (analytics, process, claims oversight)• 5+ years experience in managing and leading teamsPreferred Qualifications• Data-driven individual with strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience using analytic dashboards• Prior experience working with or for a gig or sharing economy company• Experience managing relationships with TPAs, insurance carriers and vendors• Strategic thinker with proven success in change management• Must be a self-motivated, results oriented individual with exemplary prioritization skills• Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills balancing attention to detail with swift execution• Proactive stakeholder management skills and able to quickly build relationships• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Thrives in forging new ground in a fast pace environmentFor New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$221,000 per year - USD$245,500 per year.For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$177,000 per year - USD$196,500 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$221,000 per year - USD$245,500 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
