It consists of several units - Administration, Finance & Business Operations, Human Resources, IT Procurement, and Inventory Management.Under the direction of the Finance Director, the position is responsible for complex budgeting, financial and analytical functions. Independently responsible for the oversight of financial models, associated resource recoupment and billing, and providing crucial resource & projection analyses. Supervises & guides team members to achieve and maintain sound billing operations, accounts payable support, special project and restricted revenue management, and PO contractor management. Provides expert recommendations to leadership for the short and long range strategic planning of self-supporting activities, and submitting rate recharge proposals to the campus Rate Recharge Review Committee for approval. Independently perform special high-level analytical and forecasting projects. Lead and coordinate the annual storeroom inventory process and provide related analyses and reports.Responsibilities:• Independently responsible for advanced financial modelling, resource planning, and budgetary oversight of the department's various self-supporting activities. Monitors financial health and provides recommendations to leadership with regard to both short and long-range planning.• Supervises & guides team members to achieve and maintain sound billing operations, accounts payable support, special project and restricted revenue management, and PO contractor management.• Provides analytical support for complex budget, financial, or resource analysis projects. Performs complex financial or resource research and studies for various internal department constituents. Examples include periodic financial reports, staff / faculty salary budgets, contracts, grants, gifts, endowments, or user fees.• Ensures that the appropriate internal controls are addressed, maintained and strengthened to protect University resources. Performs audit reviews to ensure accuracy of billing transactions for each operation.• Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.• Employee must be available to travel as required.QUALIFICATIONS• Experience in staff supervision including recruitment, training, and delegation of duties cross-training staff to create a team environment, coaching and goal setting, performance evaluation, and motivate staff to carry out responsibilities with a focus on innovation, quality, customer service and teamwork.• Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.• Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
