Location: UCHealth Parkview Medical Center, US:CO:PuebloDepartment: PMC Forensic NursesFTE: Part Time, 0.6, 48.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)Shift: NightsPay: $35.29 - $54.71 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.Summary:Join our dedicated team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by violence. You will perform forensic examinations, provide compassionate patient care, and support victims through their healing journey.Responsibilities:• Conduct comprehensive medical histories and assessments of patients who have experienced assault, ensuring a thorough understanding of their psychological and physical needs.• Collect and preserve forensic evidence, documenting all findings meticulously to support ongoing investigations.• Administer direct nursing care for injuries and provide prophylactic medications while coordinating referrals for further treatment as needed.• Communicate empathetically with victims and their families about evidence collection, treatment options, and reporting procedures to law enforcement to facilitate informed decision-making.• Advocate for victims and provide expert testimony during court proceedings as required.• Exhibit critical thinking and decisive judgment while working independently in a fast-paced environment.Requirements:• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months of hire.• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.• A minimum of 1 year of RN experience or 6 months as an Advanced Practice Nurse is required; 3 years in an acute care/hospital setting is preferred.• BLS or CPR certification must be current and valid upon start date.At UCHealth, we value your contributions and are committed to improving lives through quality care and connection.
