4-H Youth State Leadership Intern

Overview

Seasonal intern position to assist state 4-H youth leadership staff with the development, implementation and promotion of teen programming during the summer season. Assist in developing both educational and marketing materials to promote 4-H and expand programming.

This is a 25-30 hours per week, non-benefited position funded through September 2023. This position requires travel to and from 4-H events and will require availability on some evenings and weekends.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to State 4-H Leadership Team in the development and implementation of positive youth development programs.
  • Assist with development and implementation of curriculum and related training (you will be teaching).
  • Assist in planning and implementing teen residential conference and camp programs.
  • Assist with social media and other outreach efforts.
  • Assist with County youth leadership and civic programs as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Reliable & professional with effective oral & written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with public and youth.
  • Self-motivator with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Own transportation required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with/teaching youth.
  • Strong computer literacy and technology skills.
  • Desire to explore opportunities to work for Extension in the future.

$17/hour

Most work can be done from home or out visiting sites. Some office space is available in Salt Lake Extension Office at Intern stations. Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  This position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day.
