Emissions Data Analyst

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional Business Analyst to join our UniQue Ispra team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.

What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Support the development and updating of global greenhouse gas and air pollutant emission inventories, integrating the latest data on technologies and abatement measures across various sectors.
  • Contribute to the creation of consumption-based emission estimates within the EDGAR framework using data from GTAP, UN Comtrade, and other sector-specific sources.
  • Assist in building and refining emission scenarios as part of EDGAR's long-term projections.
  • Perform data analysis to support the interpretation and validation of EDGAR outputs.
  • Collaborate on additional EDGAR-related activities, including contributions to the annual EDGAR booklet and other dissemination materials.

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • Produce well-structured and clear technical documentation.
  • Conduct thorough technical evaluations and quality assessments.
  • Apply advanced data analysis and modeling techniques, particularly for emissions estimation.
  • Utilize statistical inference methods and high-end analytics, including data mining and classification.
  • Develop scripts and tools using Python, R, or similar programming languages.
  • Work with GIS tools (e.g. ArcMap, QGIS) and handle spatial data formats like NetCDF.
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and spoken form.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with climate change and environmental policy frameworks.
  • Experience with visual communication tools such as Adobe Illustrator.
