Location: Hofplien, Rotterdam – the Netherlands

A great opportunity becomes available within the MCO Controlling Team in the Benelux as per Q2 2024. The Financial Accounting Manager plays a pivotal part in the Benelux MCO organization (Turnover €1.3 billion) as the guardian of the integrity of the BNX financial books and he/she plays a crucial part of the company’s “protect value” criteria. The role reports into the chief accountant manager of the BNX. This role has many focal points with expertise teams, 3rd party service providers and the overall finance team. Accounting & Process excellence, Deployment of Global Expertise and Transformational projects are the key areas of responsibility.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

       Accounting & Process Excellence:

  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate accounting and reporting for both Group and local/statutory and tax purposes.

  • Drive end-to-end financial process excellence in partnership with various stakeholders and teams.

  • Support external and internal audits.

  • Ensure compliance with the Global Financial Controls Framework and the Global Process Model.

      

Deployment of Global Expertise:

  • Maintain a connection with GCAD (Global Control and Accounting Department) and implement the latest developments in accounting rules and processes.

  • Partner with the organization on accounting and reporting matters, as well as on major business transformation initiatives.

Transformational Projects:

  • Local leadership for accounting aspects of key transformation projects and global initiatives (e.g., implementing new accounting systems, integration of acquisitions/disposals).

  • Local leadership for accounting process improvements.

  • New business model deployment in the financial accounting structure.

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Relevant finance degree or accounting qualification.

  • Proficiency in accounting principles, standards (e.g., IFRS, Local Dutch GAAP), and in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP for financial management.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, with high-quality standards.

  • Resilience and ability to cope with time pressure and challenges

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.

  • with strong communication skills and positive influencing skills.

  • Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.

  • Experience in areas of financial accounting within consumer goods or services.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
