Technology Specialist 3 💰 Salary: 44,000 - 66,000 USD per yearAt University of Akron we are looking for a DevOps engineer!🛠️ Our tech stack:Cloud, Hardware, Support, Linux, Microsoft 365, Network, Security, Windows, Office 365, DevOps📝 Rquirements:- A minimum of 24 months of education or training beyond high school.- Possession of a Fundamental Microsoft Certificate or equivalent is preferred.- A minimum of 4 years of experience and/or training in a computer-related field, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft 365 product suite, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Adobe Creative Cloud.- Strong knowledge of current computer technology, good problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills (both written and oral).- An ability to adapt to new computer technologies, perform various troubleshooting and project management functions, and learn and obtain Microsoft Fundamental certificates.👩💻👨💻 Your responsibilities are:- I will provide direct, professional, and immediate Level 1 and Level 2 support for faculty and staff, whether in person or through remote access sessions as necessary. This includes responding to technical support tickets and diagnosing a range of technical issues. After exhausting all attempts to resolve issues, I will appropriately escalate them. Additionally, I will manage access to collaboration tools and departmental file repositories while ensuring to provide prompt and regular feedback to users and prioritize multiple support activities effectively.- I will assist departments in assessing their technology needs and work with ITS engineering teams to develop suitable solutions that align with each department’s mission. To stay updated with new technology implementations, I will attend relevant training and provide software training to users to help familiarize them with the university’s service offerings and the functionality of available software.- I will maintain workstations and associated images, physical labs, and other university technologies through current endpoint management solutions. I will regularly review and modify existing workstation software to ensure licensing, security, performance, and compatibility requirements are met. I will monitor equipment functions to ensure workstations operate within acceptable specifications.- As time permits, I will assist the IT Service Desk with triage and support activities.
