Job Description

The Lean Facilitator of Continuous Improvement will have the responsibility for assisting with driving continuous process improvement for UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center through the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodology. Responsible for chartering, leading and coaching process improvement projects that support quality, safety, patient satisfaction and productivity.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, health system engineering, health care administration, organizational development or a similar field of study with strong analytical base required.
  • 2-4 years Training in continuous process improvement and process management required
  • 2-4 years’ Experience facilitating process improvement teams/role as a change agent required
  • 2-4 years Hands on experience with process improvement Lean methodologies to included;  Value Stream Management tools, A3, Kaizen methods, standardized work, and other key Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification is preferred

Working Conditions

Works inside. Works in a clean well-lighted, fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and multiple crisis situations. Potential for minimal exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials requiring the observance of Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices. Expected to work mainly day shift Monday-Friday and weekends/evenings as requested. This position has been classified as low or no exposure risk and does not require the completion of an annual testing, but ma y require "just in time" testing if the need arises.

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting approximately 75% of the time; frequent standing and/or walking; occasional bending, lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to fifteen (15) pounds. Requires manual dexterity for using keyboard and operating office equipment. Requires vis ual acuity to use computer monitor and read documents. Talking and hearing necessary for conversations with staff, managers, co - workers, and visitors by phone and personally.
