Lead Architectural Designer

At Vessel Technologies, we’re not just designing buildings—we’re reinventing the way people live. In 2024, we reimagined the apartment building as a high-performance, prefabricated product that’s beautiful, healthy, sustainable, and attainable. Now, we’re building a design-driven platform to tackle one of humanity’s greatest challenges: housing that meets the needs of the 21st century.

We’re seeking an Architectural Designer who’s ready to think bigger—someone who sees architecture not just as a practice, but as a tool for transformation. This is an opportunity to push boundaries, experiment boldly, and work at the intersection of design, technology, and manufacturing to redefine what’s possible.

Why This Role Matters

Housing is one of the most urgent and complex challenges of our time. At Vessel, we believe the solution isn’t incremental—it’s revolutionary. We’re building a scalable platform that applies advanced manufacturing techniques to architecture, enabling us to deliver homes that are as thoughtfully designed as the world’s best products.

As an Architectural Designer at Vessel, you’ll be a key contributor to this mission, transforming ideas into reality and helping us scale beauty, performance, and attainability. Your work won’t just shape buildings—it will shape lives.

What You’ll Do
  • Design for Scale. Create architectural systems that work across multiple sites and adapt to diverse environments—without sacrificing beauty or performance.
  • Invent and Iterate. Rapidly prototype ideas, building physical and digital models to test new concepts and refine designs.
  • Think Like a Maker. Partner with engineers, fabricators, and manufacturers to ensure your designs can be efficiently built and assembled.
  • Solve Big Problems. Tackle challenges at the intersection of housing, sustainability, and urbanization with designs that break down barriers and inspire progress.
  • Challenge Convention. Rethink how architecture can be created, delivered, and experienced—leveraging materials and processes from industries like automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics to lead the next wave of innovation.

Who You Are
  • Big Thinker. You’re inspired by architecture’s potential to address global challenges—and you’re ready to do something about it.
  • Detail Obsessed. You care deeply about craft, precision, and the emotional impact of great design.
  • System-Oriented. You think in terms of patterns, frameworks, and repeatable solutions—not just one-off designs.
  • Collaborative Innovator. You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, combining insights from diverse fields to unlock new possibilities.
  • Adaptable Explorer. You’re comfortable moving fast, learning as you go, and pushing ideas forward even in the face of ambiguity.
  • Driven by Purpose. You want your work to make a difference—and you’re excited to apply your skills to a mission that matters.

Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of architectural design experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization skills.
  • Experience working across conceptual and technical phases of design.
  • Familiarity with prefabrication, modular systems, or industrial design principles is a plus.
  • A passion for applying design and technology to solve real-world challenges.
