Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and JV’s. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade, as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. We operate the Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS as well as Regional Distribution Centers across the NA region. The Byhalia CDC is a 1 million square foot facility located approximately 25 miles southeast of Memphis, TN and employs 550+ employees.Mission/Purpose of the PositionThe Associate Labor Relations Rep (Attendance) position is part of the Labor Relations team at the Byhalia Central Distribution Center (CDC). The Labor Relations function is responsible for assisting the operational leadership with maintaining and improving operational efficiencies in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, while promoting a positive working relationship with the union and blue collar workforce. In this position, you will be responsible for daily management of bargaining unit employee attendance, including administration of the Attendance Policy and its associated processes.The Byhalia bargaining unit workforce consists of 300+ employees and is represented by the United Automobile Workers (UAW) union.Scope & InfluenceThis position reports to the Manager, Labor Relations and is located in Byhalia, MS. You must be available to support non-first shift operations as required.Essential Functions• Responsible for consistent administration of the Attendance Policy, as well as related collective bargaining agreement provisions, policies, processes, procedures, etc...• Maintain current attendance records for each bargaining unit employee.• Verify quality and accuracy of attendance records, utilizing multiple date sources as input (e.g. disability records, Workers Compensation records, SAP, etc…)• Maintain accurate master attendance file.• Generate and provide attendance disciplines to Supervisors for their bargaining unit team members. Maintain attendance discipline log.• Provide regular attendance reporting as required.• Work closely with union representatives to maintain a strong and effective relationship.• Provide attendance process training as necessary.• Participate in grievance meetings as required.• Collaborate with other Labor Relations and HR professionals as necessary.• Work on continuous improvement through the Volvo Production System.• Act according to the Volvo Values.• Other duties as assigned by management.Minimum Education and Experience• BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a related field preferred.• 1 years’ experience working with data, reporting and/or information systems required.• Human Resources experience preferred.• Experience working in an industrial environment preferred• Experience working in a unionized environment with labor contract interpretation responsibilities preferred• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment striving towards operational excellence guided by Volvo’s Values and the Code of Conduct.Necessary Technical/Functional/Language Skills• As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Strong customer service focus• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills• Strong organizational skills/detail-oriented• Ability to effectively present ideas and information, both oral and written• Strong interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines• Internally motivated and proactive• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications)We value your data privacy and therefore do not accept applications via mail.Who we are and what we believe inOur focus on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity allows each of us the opportunity to bring our full authentic self to work and thrive by providing a safe and supportive environment, free of harassment and discrimination.
