Our client, a leading construction firm, is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to manage estimation and bid preparation for multiple projects. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented professional who excels in customer service and has strong communication skills to coordinate with subcontractors and vendors. If you are an experienced estimator with a background in general contracting, this opportunity could be a great fit.Key Responsibilities• Estimate Preparation and Coordination: Prepare accurate estimates, purchase orders, and cost analyses for each project.• Project Management Support: Create and maintain job files, manage project data, and coordinate subcontractor selection and pricing.• Scope and Proposal Development: Assist in creating detailed scope, takeoffs, and bid proposals using estimating software and proposal forms.• Plan and Specification Interpretation: Read and interpret building plans, scope of work, and project specifications.• Vendor and Subcontractor Communication: Build and maintain relationships with trade partners, obtaining hard bids, negotiating pricing, and managing bid pricing.• Pre-Bid and Project Meetings: Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site walks, and ensure a clear understanding of project requirements.Top Skills and Qualifications• Experience: 3+ years in Estimating, Project Management, or Project Engineering with a General Contractor.• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction plans, scopes, and specifications; proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.• Attention to Detail: Highly organized, with a focus on accuracy and detail in all estimates and documentation.• Communication and Customer Service: Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective client and subcontractor interaction.• Initiative and Ownership: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Additional Requirements• Physical Requirements: Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, and wear PPE when visiting job sites.• Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours, including some Saturdays, as needed.Why Join Us?This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in construction estimating and project management within a collaborative, professional environment.
