This position will be responsible for supporting all material control transactions including shipping, receiving, maintaining rack storage locations as well as supporting the physical handling of labelling, wrapping and packing finished goods. The person will also work closely with the Production and Washcoat teams to ensure that the production line and batching supplied with the required raw materials.
Provide support for movement and tracking movement of all goods on site and in transit, being raw materials, intermediates and finished goods made and owned by plant.
Your responsibilities:
  • Check and maintain movement of inventory on site, must keep accurate records of inventory levels and location for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system and preparation of stock transfer documents and tracking of all movements through SAP.
  • Comply with all regulatory Hazardous Waste requirements in handling and shipping.
  • Be or become certified for all industrial equipment required to operate their position. This will include sit down fork-lifts, reach trucks, and pallet trucks.
  • Responsible for the put-away of all raw materials and finished goods. This includes using scanning equipment and labelling raw materials and finished goods.
  • Responsible for package preservation which includes the shrink wrapping, banding, and staging of all finished goods.
  • Be responsible for preparation of export of finished goods, starting from QA release, preparation of pick lists, delivery notes and transfer invoices.
  • Manage and control continuous inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks as well as responsibility for managing and running planned stock takes.
  • Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete raw materials to maximize availability of working capital, ensuring Quarantine and aged WIP products are used to prevent aging of parts.
  • Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required.
  • Ensure that rejected material is being accounted for and assist in sorting rejects.
  • Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly.
  • Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
  • To perform activities according to the established EHS system and to suggest improvements of the same.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance performance and operations.
Requirements for the role:
  • 1-2 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control, preferably in a warehouse in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts & pallet jacks is highly desired.
  • Some experience with automated inventory control and scanning systems desired.
  • Good communication skills along with the ability to work well as a member of a team.
