Position Summary
Provide labor for the warehouse department that is required for cistern and regauge, proper barrel maturation and maintaining warehouse building and warehouse sites.
Position Responsibilities
  • Filling and emptying barrels
  • Handling full and empty barrels
  • Loading and unloading barrels from the warehouse and trucks
  • Maintaining and cleaning warehouse buildings and site
  • Track inventory locations and following pre-determined instructions for removing inventory
  • Supports and adhere to the job requirements for the department with regards to Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and fully support the company IMS objectives and initiatives
  • Other duties as indicated
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Ability to handle heavy barrels (in excess of 500 lbs) by rolling and with use of machinery
  • Work environment consists of both hot and cold temperatures
  • Familiarity with physical labor
  • Ability to work with others in a group without supervision
  • High school graduate/GED
  • Self-starting
  • Works well in a fast paced environment
  • Valid drivers license required
Non-Essential Skills and Experience
  • No prior experience required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Heavy lifting of 45+ lbs
  • Straight pulling and pushing
  • Reaching above shoulders
  • Use of both arms, hands and fingers required
  • Walking approximately 2 – 3 hours per day
  • Standing approximately 6 -7 hours per day
  • Repeated bending and climbing
  • Use of both legs
  • Operation of a motor vehicle
  • Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously
  • Near and far vision correctable
  • Depth perception and ability to recognize basic colors
  • Hearing (aid is permitted)
Work Environment- The employee will encounter the following environmental factors while performing the job:
  • Work is performed inside and outside
  • Exposure to excessive heat, humidity, cold, dampness and chilling
  • Dry atmospheric conditions
  • Constant noise
  • Dust, abrasive chemicals, fumes, smoke, gas
  • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces
  • Exposure to electrical energy
  • Working around moving objects, machinery and vehicles
  • Working closely with others
Safety Training and Personal Protective Gear Required
  • Proper lifting – team lifting techniques
  • Safety Egress routes
  • Gloves when handling unfinished wood
  • Safety glasses while handling liquids
  • Safety Toe Shoes
  • Headlamp while in barrel barn
  • Industrial Truck training if using powered vehicles
  • General Firestone & Robertson safety training and employee conduct training
