Internships @ Wealthsimple

At Wealthsimple, we offer 4 to 8-month internships that are open to co-op and non-co-op students, and recent grads. During your remote-first internship, you will be able to contribute to projects that are changing the landscape of financial services for Canadians. You will be on a team that supports your growth and provides mentorship while also connecting to the broader Wealthsimple community! 


Eligibility

✔ Currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian post-secondary institution or technical bootcamp

✔ New graduates - Within 6 months of your graduation date

✔ Available to work full-time hours

✔ Residing in Canada


Product at Wealthsimple

Wealthsimple has several product teams such as platform, core, growth, and data where our teams build and manage the software that powers our services. We do this using microservice architecture and an agile approach, focused on short iterations and rigorous automated testing, deploying our code over 100 times a day. We maximize our productivity by building high-performing teams and giving them autonomy to deliver results, working very closely with engineering, design, and operations/cx to make sure that our work delivers maximum benefit for our clients.

During this internship you will:

Develop a plan for what you’d like to work on.

Get to know our products, users, and stakeholders

Conduct user research, analyze data, and synthesize insights to drive product improvements.

Present findings and product recommendations backed by data and user insights.

Begin executing, while interacting with design, engineering, data, and ops/cx teams.

Define and map success metrics.

Work with the engineering teams on bug triage, requirements, etc.

Overall, build product management experience and get an understanding of how we ship stuff!


Role Requirements:

The ability to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity to being adept at synthesizing actionable problems, insights, and requirements from raw, unstructured qualitative and quantitative data.

An interest in building and shipping consumer products and features loved by thousands of clients customers

Experience working with multiple different teams to deliver great physical consumer products to clients.

A passion for talking to end users or customers, and experience with design thinking methods (e.g. customer interviews, usability tests, and co-creation).

Experience with SQL, APIs, and analytics tools to extract insights
