Backend Integration Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Integration Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and backend integration processes. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend services while ensuring seamless integration with external systems and APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Development & Integration:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless system integration.
• Work on microservices architecture and enhance service-oriented solutions.
• Ensure smooth integration with third-party services, databases, and internal systems.

2. System Performance & Optimization:

• Monitor and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Optimize database queries and backend processes for efficiency.
• Implement caching strategies, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.

3. Security & Compliance:

• Ensure secure API communication and data handling.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Adhere to best security practices in backend development.

4. Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless system interactions.
• Maintain technical documentation for backend services and integration points.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• 6-8 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
• Experience with API development and integration using RESTful and SOAP services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Knowledge of microservices best practices.
• Exposure to API gateways and enterprise integration patterns.
