Avionics Technician


Job Summary

 

The Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting and/or performing needed repairs to aircraft systems utilizing test equipment and hand tools to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Learns and assists with routine avionics installations and repairs on general aviation aircraft 
  • Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of work
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor 
  • Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal tool box
  • Meets or beats flat rates for assigned tasks
  • Understands and follows safety procedures, and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner to accomplish work 
  • Responsible for completing training syllabus for advancement to next level
  • Performs other duties as directed


Qualifications & Job Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in performance of avionics modifications and installations on corporate / business aircraft or similar airframes.
  • Owns basic hand tools to complete work (list will be provided)
  • FCC Certification is preferred
  • Airframe certification preferred



Other Prerequisites
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge


Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have the ability for climbing and bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working at heights; Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
