Position Title: Client Manager

Role Overview: 

You will be leading the day-to-day business of 3-4 key clients working alongside external agencies and internal specialists to deliver best-in-class planning proposals, free from the shackles of network agency deals. You will use your multi media planning skills, a broad knowledge of media planning tools, their use and application to deliver insightful, innovative and effective communications planning.

You will drive excellence in client service, providing the best in day to day account management. You’ll seek improvements to processes and media plans, innovation in activity and opportunities to connect with consumers in ways that are meaningful for our clients. You’ll ensure that the activation specialist teams deliver brilliant plans that are on strategy and always be on the lookout for new opportunities that are in the best interest of the clients to deepen our relationships and increase client GP (Gross Profit).

The role involves managing and developing others. You will be a guiding light, your attitude and vibes will filter through the rest of the team. You’ll have a can-do attitude and an infectious ‘What’s Possible’ approach to delivering the best work our clients have seen. You’ll get the best work out of a willing team.

You will be an experienced planner and account manager within a media agency background and possess excellent client handling skills.

 

Reports to: Client Director

Reporting staff: Senior Client Exec / Client Exec / Apprentice

Main Accountabilities:

  • Excellent account management skills:
  • Establish yourself as the day-to-day lead for your clients’ business
  • Consistently build a better and deeper understanding of our clients and share these insights with the team
  • Deliver on TSW’s reputation of consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations
  • Build a deep and strong relationship with day to day client contacts, understand their business challenges; acting upon client feedback
  • Anticipate and resolve client challenges by quickly identifying opportunities and threats. Understand when to escalate to the Client Director
  • Own all client-facing reports & Post- Campaign Analysis
  • Strategic media planning skills:
  • Interrogate client briefs to produce and present high-quality responses
  • Manage the planning process with clients from briefing all the way through to campaign evaluation for consistency and future planning, using the Planning Team effectively and when needed
  • Responsible for delivering the briefing process to Activation specialists and the co-ordinating and combining of detailed responses into a holistic, logical comms plan
  • Help to establish best practice through the planning process leading to greater innovation and creativity
  • Work with the senior team to develop client strategies and annual planning
  • Ensure a defined client strategy is effectively realised through in channel implementation.
  • Begin to demonstrate the ability to tell compelling stories through client documents
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness – keeping the client and agency up to day on industry news and what’s new, identify opportunities etc.
  • Own the sign-off process with support from team
  • Offer guidance to junior staff with ongoing feedback to constantly improve upon our collective offering
  • Efficiently delegate tasks both up and down the management line, identifying opportunities to upskill direct reports and show a clear line of progression for the team
  • Champion the client team within the wider TSW environment promoting the success of the strategic planning function
  • Constant positivity, being a team player and a can-do, ‘Whats Possible’ leader

Key Deliverables: What will this role deliver in 6, 9, 12 months?

  • Established strong relationships with clients, your team, and the activation specialists
  • Worked alongside the Client Director to deliver strategic planning for clients, presenting and providing strong rationale
  • Be able to lead day to day workstreams – ensuring clear communication with clients, and ensuring all delivery is met across the teams
  • Demonstrated planning expertise across offline and online channels, providing recommendations to clients without much guidance required
  • Champion your teams’ development, showing evidence of coaching/mentoring along with adherence to the companies ‘Blueprint’ development structure

 

Technical requirements:

  • Has experience using UK media planning tools including but not limited to TGI/Touchpoints, Ad Intel etc.
  • Could support others with communication and presentation skills using Microsoft Office applications (written & oral)

 

Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong multi-media expertise – across Offline and Online channels
  • Ability to use key planning tools e.g. Ad Intel, TGI, Touchpoints
  • Multi-tasking across multiple clients and projects
  • Managing day to day client interactions and presenting to senior client stakeholders
  • Developing and coaching junior team-members
  • Strong analytical skills/experience interrogating both soft and hard data to produce insights

 

Nice to have:

  • Media agency experience
  • Experience of working with external agencies (Creative/BTL/PR)
